				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Marcel Chirnoaga was a Romanian artist, graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Bucharest in 1952, simultaneously pursuing liberal art studies.</p>
<p>He has been a member of the Union of Visual Artists in Romania since 1953.</p>
<p>During his life, the artist Marcel Chirnoagă created over 3,000 works, excelling in drawings, engravings, paintings and sculptures, being at the same time the author of the most important Romanian work from the end of the 20th century, the cycle of &#8220;Apocalypse&#8221; engravings.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The painter Corneliu Vasilescu was born into a family of intellectuals, his mother Alexandra Vasilescu, a drawing teacher, and his father, Nicolae Vasilescu, a lawyer.</p>
<p>In 1960, before enrolling at the “Nicolae Grigorescu” Institute of Fine Arts, he made his exhibition debut, within the interregional exhibition of the Union of Fine Artists, Iași branch.</p>
<p>He is noted as a good draftsman and colorist and thus, in 1968, he became a member of the Union of Fine Artists.<br />
Between 1968 and 1974 he attended the &#8220;Nicolae Grigorescu&#8221; Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, painting department, Professor Gheorghe Șaru&#8217;s class.</p>
<p>In 1973, a year before the completion of the &#8220;Nicolae Grigorescu&#8221; Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, he participated, together with the painter Lucian Georgescu, in the Experiment at the Bearing Factory in Bârlad, executing 10 panels in order to visually improve a space of productive effort. .</p>
<p>In 1974, after graduating from university, he participated in important exhibitions such as: &#8220;Self-portrait in Romanian painting&#8221; organized at the Art Museum in Iasi and &#8220;Portrait in Romanian contemporary art&#8221; organized at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Galati.</p>
<p>Between 1976-1979 he was a Museographer at the National Office for Documentation and Art Exhibitions.</p>
<p>Since 1983 he has been a visiting professor at the Hochschule in Darmstadt.</p>

<p>He studied at the National School of Architecture and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest under the guidance of Fr. Storck and G.D. Brides.</p>
<p>He attended engraving classes at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris and at the Julian Academy.</p>
<p>He made his debut in Bucharest in 1926 at the Official Drawing and Engraving Salon.</p>
<p>He participated in numerous exhibitions of paintings and engravings, being noticed by the public and specialists.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Eustațiu Stoenescu (n. 14 mai 1884, Craiova &#8211; d. 13 septembrie 1957, New York) a fost un pictor român. A studiat la Academia Julian și la Școala națională de arte frumoase din Paris cu J.P. Laurens, cu care a colaborat la executarea unor cartoane de tapiserie și a unor decorații murale. Stoenescu a pictat scene de gen, peisaje, naturi moarte, remarcabile prin subtilitatea tonurilor gri („Natură statică cu lămâie”), dar a fost mai ales un portretist virtuos, excepțional prin darul exprimării laconice și prin viziunea distantă, solemnă, dar nu lipsită de expresivitate („Amatorul de tablouri”, 1941).</p>
<p>Distins, elegant, zâmbitor, Eustațiu Stoenescu a dus o viață stranie, ușor romantică și încă nedeslușită. Fiind o prezență constantă în cercurile mondene ale epocii, despre Stoenescu se păstrează imaginea unui personaj cosmopolit, rafinat și cumva arogant. Pictor de mare talent, socotit de critică unul dintre cei mai mari portretiști ai vremii, Eustațiu Stoenescu a intrat într-un con de umbră după cel de-al doilea război mondial, după moarte fiind aproape uitat.</p>
<p>Ia contact cu pictura la 15 ani, când pictorul francez Leopold Durangel (1828-1898) vine în casa părintească pentru a realiza portretul mamei sale. După vizitarea Expoziției retrospective Nicolae Grigorescu, deschisă în 1897 la București, în sala Ateneului Român, se decide ireversibil să urmeze același drum. Pleacă în Franța împreună cu Nicolae Titulescu și studiază pictura. Dacă la început de drum tematica era tributară lui Grigorescu, treptat Stoenescu s-a desprins de orice influență, construindu-și un stil puternic personalizat.</p>
